Thanks again DOC, you are the BEST!
Labor Day Weekend 1999
I had to put this picture first.  This is a wall at the Korean War Memorial. This message is what I went to D.C. to learn about.
I now know that the price of freedom did not come cheaply.
This is at the President Roosevelt Memorial
These words are how FDR saw war.
This is me and Nathan (my twin brother) waiting in line at the soup
kitchen at the FDR Memorial
This is my mom, dad and Nathan coming out of the White House. My POW/MIA Bear went with us too!
They are ALL Heroes
These are pictures from the Korean War Memorial. This Memorial is so beautiful. It really makes you feel that we are protected.
This small block says so much.
EVERY MONTH, 227 men were POW/MIA during the Korean War.
These are the pictures of why I went to Washington D.C.
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial-THE WALL
I salute all of you who this statue represents. To those who returned, WELCOME HOME and THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. No one can ever take away the pain and memories that you have, but we can tell you how grateful and proud we are of you. To the 58,219, I salute you for making the sacrifice to protect my freedom.  May God always keep you in His care. To the many still missing, I salute your memory and will always keep your spirit alive until you are free!
This picture is the background for this page.
They stand watching over their friends, day and night
They are the Guardians of The Wall
When you stand and see your reflection on The Wall you know that somehow, through the black granite, someone is looking back at you, saying "Thank You For Caring"
One of my Offerings at the Wall
This is what I left at The Wall for Sgt. Arlie Mangus.  Copies of my web page dedicated to him, the picture of me from the opening ceremony at The Moving Wall that was in our local paper and the picture of his mother laying the POW/MIA wreath at the opening ceremoney which was in the paper too. Click the next button to read the letter that I left with these pictures.
Even Tropical Storm Dennis (once Hurricane Dennis) couldn't keep us away. We grabbed the rain gear and went to The Wall.  We were there hours at a time and two, three times a day.  I love this statue and left a flower at the base when we left.
These are some of the fun things we did in D.C.
This is my friend, Mr. Devlin. We met him when we were volunteers at The Moving Wall.  He is a a Vietnam Veteran too.  He volunteers in Washington D.C. with the National Park Service, but he lives in Pittsburgh. We were lucky, because he was there over Labor Day Weekend too and he got to show us a lot of things that we might not have seen. This is Mr. Devlin, Nathan and me "falling off" the Washington Monument.
We love you Mr. Devlin!
This is the cart that Mr. Devlin rode us all around D.C. in. My mom stayed in the back rolling the camcorder the whole time.  When people kept looking she told them she was filming a documentary!
We had a lot of fun in that cart.
This is mom and dad in front of the Reflecting Pool.  Mom has her Pittsburgh Pirates shirt on-LET'S GO BUCS!
This is me and Nathan passing  the "Life is like a box of chocolates" box.  This is the same bench Forrest Gump used during the movie.
This is me sitting with Albert Einstein. It took me half of the day to climb up there!
