| This is the speech I made after receiving the Proclamation, I think everyone of you would be proud!!! For those of you who know the paragraph that I read in my speech, the last line is mine!! I would like to thank you for inviting me here today and I am very honored to receive this Proclamation. It is dedicated to the Veterans of our country for protecting my freedom. They have become very special to me and I will never let their sacrifies be forgotten. I would like to read a small paragraph to remind everyone of the cost that has been paid, by the real heroes of America, for the freedoms that we all enjoy today. It is the Soldier, not the reporter, who as given us the freedom of the press. It is the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the Soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a free trial. It is the Soldier, who salutes the flag, serves under the flag, and whose coffin is draped under the flag, who has given the protestor the right to burn the flag. It is the Soldier who has kept America strong and free. After I made my speech, Councilman Ricciardi explained to everyone about all of the pins on my hat and about my POW/MIA bracelets that I wear. Thanks Councilman Ricciardi!!! |
