TARENTUM PARK POW/MIA MEMORIAL |
On September 15, 2001, I was with my favorite VFW post, Tartentum VFW Post 5758, to dedicate a POW/MIA Memorial in the Tarentum Park!! |
I was one of the guest speakers and got to sit up front, but you can't see me too well because it was pretty cold!! |
Then it was my turn to speak and I wasn't cold anymore because what I was saying was too important! Sitting with me were Past State Commander Lopes, Post 5758 Ladies Auxiliary President Chris Cochran and Commander Willison. Everyone from my favorite post was there!! |
This is the Memorial that we dedicated to every POW/MIA |
After we dedicated the Memorial, we went back to the Post and I met Mr. Jim Foley. He was in the 4th Marine Division and is a survivor of Iwo Jima. He even gave me sand that he brought back from Iwo Jima and I proudly have his 4th Marine Division pin on my hat!!! |
I also got to meet State Senator Melissa Hart!! She is now Representative Hart in Washington D.C. |
