| The town of Ford City put the chance to be the first person to cross the new Veterans Bridge on Ebay so everyone would have a chance to bid on it. The day after the Dedication we got a call from my Great, Great Aunt Jean and she told us that my cousin Mike (her son) had bid on it for her and they won!!! She asked me if I would like to be one of the first people to cross the Veterans Bridge!!! |

| On July 31, 2000, my Great, Great Aunt, three of my cousins and I were the very first people to cross the Veterans Bridge and here we come!!! |

| This is me and my Great, Great Aunt Jean after officially opening the new bridge!!! My Great, Great Uncle Mikey (Aunt Jean's husband) served in WWII and in his memory my cousin Mike bid on the chance to be the first across the bridge for Aunt Jean. My cousin Larry (Aunt Jean's son too), who was in the front seat of the Jeep, is a Vietnam Vet. I am so glad that she asked me to ride with them. What a great honor that was and what a great weekend it was!!! |
