Sunday was the last day and I was sad to see it end, but the events of the day were beautiful!!! This is me and Senator Jack Wagner who is from Pittsburgh.  Senator Wagner is a Vietnam Veteran!!! I have been with the Senator quite a few times and I was glad to talk to him again!!
The Closing Ceremony
Look, can you see why these two people were so special???
They were the skydivers!!
One with the American Flag and one with the POW/MIA Flag!!! Just like I said, I have never seen anything like this before and it was great!!!
Before the final speeches and the thank you's started, one of the members of the VVI wanted to thank someone and share her story.  This is Dee-Dee and she works at the funeral home that sponsored The Moving Wall. She was there everyday too, helping anywhere she could, but she had a special story.  Dee-Dee's mother is Vietnamese and her father was a U.S. soldier.  Her father knew that something was going to happen and he made Dee-Dee and her mother come to the United States and live with his family even though her mother didn't know anyone here or how to speak english.  He got them out of Vietnam weeks before Saigon fell, Dee-Dee was only 5 months old.
This is Dee-Dee and me.  We talked about her story and her trips back to Vietnam for a few hours and I'm very glad I met her!!
She is very grateful and proud to live in the United States!!!  And this is me with all of Dee-Dee's family!!!
Then Mr. Voytek called me
up on the stage.
Mr. Voytek gave me a special Certificate of Appreciation plaque and something
very, very special!!!
On behalf of the VVI of Fayette County presented me with a beautiful framed print with an engraved plaque that says:
