IT'S "NIKKI DAY" IN THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH!
I met Councilman Gene Ricciardi at the American Legion State Convention and he asked me if I would attend a Pittsburgh City Council Meeting,  during the week of National POW/MIA Recognition Day.  Being that this is such a special day to me, I felt that it was important to be able to make everyone aware of our POW/MIA's.  Mom arranged for me to have a 1/2 day off school and off to Pittsburgh City Council we went.
I was asked to lead the Pledge of Allegiance, something I was very proud to do.  What I didn't know is that Councilman Ricciardi had a Proclamation ready for me and it passed the Pittsburgh City Council unanimously!!!
