|POW/MIA Day 1999|
|On September 17, 1999 I went with the Tarentum VFW Post 5758 to the Pittsburgh Pirates game to honor the WWII POW's who returned home and also to honor all of the POW/MIA's. These are my pictures from the field of Three Rivers Stadium.|
|This is me and the members of the Tarentum VFW Post 5758. The only ones to notice my mom taking this picture was me and Vice Commander Dan Wolfe.|
|This is the whole group as we took the field. All of the members of Post 5758 are on the right side of the picture. I was standing with the Post's WWII returned POW, Ray
(he has on the blue jacket).
|This is a good shot of Ray, Commander Stephen Willison (in the camo), Vice Commander Dan Wolfe and Ladies Auxiliary Sectetary Brenda Wolfe (all looking at the camera). I missed the camera on this one though.|
|This was the color guard that presented the colors while we proudly sang The Star Spangled Banner.|
|Below: Vice Commander Dan Wolfe (center), Commander Stephen Willison (right) and me. We were on the
jumbo-tron at the stadium!
|Then, to make the weekend complete, I was a part of the opening ceremony, the candlelight vigil, the closing ceremony and I even had the chance to take a turn at holding the American Flag during the vigil on September 18 & 19, 1999. Here are the pictures.|
