|Vietnam Wall Experience|
|In June 2000, I got a phone call from Mr. Frank Voytek, the President of the Fayette County Vietnam Veterans, Inc. He told me that he saw me speak on TV at Rolling Thunder and wanted me to come to Uniontown, PA (about one hour away from me) on August 10, 11, 12 & 13, 2000 to be a guest speaker everyday at the Vietnam Wall Experience, which is just like the "Moving Wall". So on August 10th we were off to Uniontown and even though I have a lot of pictures to show you, I don't think that I could ever explain how wonderful this event was. I made so many new friends and it was truly my honor to be there.|
|The Vietnam Wall Experience was sponsored by Haky Funeral Home with the help of the Fayette County VVI and when you came up the road all you could see were American Flags, hundreds and hundreds of them lining the road. When you went up the driveway all you could see were POW/MIA Flags, hundreds and hundreds of them.
I don't think that I have ever seen anything so beautiful!!!
|This was the view of the Wall from the stage. It was just beautiful!!|
|As soon as we got there, the VVI presented me with a gift they had made for me. They gave me magnetic signs for our van that have the POW/MIA logo on them and my logo's too!!! They say:
Because I Care...
A friend to all Vets
and PROUD of it!!!
If you have ever received an email from me you know that is always how I sign them and the "Because I Care" is the slogan I use on my web page. These are the best and now I use them everywhere I go!
|I was pretty happy to be there and to be able to honor my heroes!!|
|I met one of the Proudest Marines that I have ever met, Mr. Dale Coughenour and he gave me two wonderful USMC patches for my jacket!!! He also had the job of introducing me everyday when it was time for me to speak!!!
Semper Fi, Mr. Coughenour!!!
